About me

Hi, I’m Mike Conlow. I’m a technologist. My interests are technology, policy, politics, and economics in various combinations. Especially #InternetForAll and #EnergyTransition.

In my day job I work for Cloudflare. I work on a team that builds out Cloudflare’s global network. I measure how fast Cloudflare’s network is, analyze how Cloudflare interconnects with other networks, and plan where to put new infrastructure to make it faster. I also work on important Internet policy issues like helping ensure a free and open Internet and privacy. As part of my work life, I know a lot about SASE, edge computing, and “cloud”.

Cloudflare’s mission is to help build a better Internet. And while nothing I write in my personal capacity is approved by Cloudflare, I think my own #InternetForAll views generally align with those of Cloudflare.

Beyond #broadband, I have a deep interest in making sure we can decarbonize our economy quickly and affordably.

I do occasional data consulting and speaking engagements. Please reach out if you want to talk about that.
